Twelfth Night

Musical direction, arrangements and piano for Shakespeare's Twelfth Night at The Hub Theatre.

  • Musical Director
  • Pianist
  • Arranger

Twelfth Night carries more song than almost anything else in Shakespeare. Feste has "O mistress mine" and "Come away, death", and the play does not end on a line at all but on a song about the rain raining every day. The text hands a production the words and no tunes, so what those settings sound like is a decision every company has to make for itself.

Playing the show as well as arranging it puts the accompanist in the room for every run. The arrangement stops being a document and becomes something adjusted at the keyboard to whoever is singing it.
