The Drop

Queue music for the drop from the tower's transfer platform.

  • Composer

The Drop sends people off a caged platform slung between the tower's legs, twenty-five metres above the water — a hundred steps up a hidden staircase, out across the gantry, and then down. This is the music they hear while they wait.

Queue music for a thrill attraction is written to hold a crowd without winding it up. Here the crowd is waiting to step off a building, so the arousal is already supplied — the score's job is to keep people in the queue rather than to build them towards the edge.
