Clacton Pier is a year-round collaboration. Nick composes for its seasonal events — multiple fireworks spectaculars and seasonal productions — and wrote the original soundtrack for FEAR, the pier's Halloween event.
A pier is an unusual acoustic space to score for: the audience is spread along a line rather than gathered in a field and the sea is always in the mix.
FEAR 2026 is a new form for the event and a bigger one: strictly over-12s, after dark, staged on the second floor of the Jolly Roger for the first time in decades — two live-action mazes, an outdoor scare zone and the pier's rides running in the dark.
